Job Title: Network Operations Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. You will be part of a SRE team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.

  • Linux Server Administration:
    • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (e.g., Rocky, CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat) in a Data Centre environment.
    • Automate routine tasks using shell scripts and configuration management tools.
    • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
    • Ensure system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes are in place.
  • Networking:
    • Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
    • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, QoS)
    • Configure and maintain DNS, DHCP, and other essential network services.
    • Monitor network performance, optimize traffic, and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
    • Thorough understanding of IP Networks, including VLANs
    • Implement network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and VPNs.
    • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
    • Firewalls, switches, routers and other network equipment (Cisco, Fortinet)
    • Collaborate with ISPs, telecom providers, and external vendors to resolve network-related issues.
    • Ability to analyse network performance and identify bottlenecks.
  • Data Centre Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Data Centre, including server and other physical devices management.
    • Ensure the maintenance of the Rack in Data Centre, including access controls, surveillance, and monitoring systems.
    • Manage server rack installations, cabling, and hardware upgrades.
    • Coordinate with vendors for maintenance, and support services.
   
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with development, IT, telecommunications, and Data Centre teams to ensure seamless operations and integration of services.
    • Provide support for network, Linux, VoIP, and Data Centre-related issues to internal teams and end-users.
    • Document configurations, procedures, network diagrams, VoIP setups, and Data Centre layouts.
    • Participate in on-call rotation to address urgent issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Network Operation Engineer with a focus on networking and Data Centre management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience in Data Centre operations, including server management, rack installation, and environmental monitoring.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
